MIGUEL ÁNGEL LOMBARDO
He holds a PhD in Political Science and Sociology and has combined a large experience in the international cooperation for development, as consultant, programme developer and advisor. Between 2008 and 2010 he worked as Regional Advisor for UNDP, New York, in the Regional Bureau for Africa where he followed, among others, the implementation of the UNDP Regional Programme for Youth Employment in Sub Saharan Africa. Prior to this, as a consultant for the Spanish Secretary of State for International Cooperation, he has coordinated the design and formulation of the Spanish Cooperation Strategy for Democratic Governance, Citizen Participation and Institutional Development.
He has a substantive experience in Guatemala, El Salvador, Ecuador and the Saharaui Refugees of Tindouf, Algeria. As evaluator he has conducted, among others, the Intermediate Evaluation of the Programme for Democratic Governance in Guatemala (CONSENSIO), the Final Country Evaluation of the United Nations MDG-Fund in Ecuador (which included 4 Joint Programmes), and he has worked with other multilateral organizations such as ECLAC and the European Union, or bilateral organizations such as Spanish (AECID) and International Foundations / NGOs.
